80th Birthday Party | Johannesburg Family Portrait Photographer
I don't normally post private photos here on the blog, but after a telephone conversation with a lady a few minutes ago, I thought this post would be quite apt.
So this lovely lady explained that the last time they had had group family photos taken, was back at their wedding day 20 years ago! It is her hubby's 50th Birthday party soon, and for a change, all the family will be together. More importantly it will be her hubby and his four brothers together again. So you can imagine what an ideal time this is to capture family portraits!!
Wow, this story really touched me. As the eldest of five children, I know only too well how special this is. We don't live in different countries or even different provinces. But to get us all together is always a mission. For years we put off having family shoots done until we found out that my brother was leaving for Cape Town, and it was now or never. The only sad part is that we finally had the family portraits done, but this happened after my father had passed. He would have loved having family portraits to look back on. He was so proud of his family.
So don't leave those all-important family portraits for another day. Another day never comes. My gran is 80 and this was the first time she'd had a portrait of herself with her adult children and their spouses and kids. Ever!
Enjoy these pics. My gran, upon seeing these photos got all teary-eyed. For someone at her age, photos are a priceless gift. A joy to behold when she sees how she and her husband have contributed to the formation of a large loving family that extends three generations. We created a photobook for her and family members too, and I have a feeling this will be something everyone will treasure always.
