Will I Still Get Individual Photos in a Group Booking?
Yes, group matric dance bookings can include individual portraits. Here is how time is divided between solo, couple, family and group photos.
Short answer: yes.
A group matric dance booking does not mean every photograph has to include the entire group. You can still have photographs that feel completely like yours.
The catch is simple. Individual portraits need individual time.
What can be photographed?
Depending on the length of the booking, your photographs may include:
● You on your own
● You with your partner
● You with your parents or immediate family
● You with your closest friends
● Everyone together
I guide you through posing, so you do not need to arrive knowing what to do with your hands or how to stand. That is my job.
Why booking time matters
Imagine ten matriculants trying to fit individual portraits, couples, families and group photos into one hour. It would feel rushed, and somebody would lose out.
That is why I recommend at least two hours for eight matriculants and three hours for ten. I work on roughly 12 minutes per matriculant, with the group photographs fitted into the overall schedule.
If family photographs are important to you, say so before the day. They should be included in the plan rather than added at the last minute.
Send this explanation to your parents
The group shares the overall booking, but each matriculant is still photographed individually. The amount of variety each person receives depends on how much time the group books and whether everyone arrives ready.
One honest warning
If someone arrives late, the whole shoot cannot restart. Their available portrait time may be shorter because the other families should not lose the time they booked.
Group portraits can give you the best of both worlds: the energy of being with your friends and photographs where you are still the main character.
