Gender reveal photographs are something fairly new in South Africa, but a favourite for those photographers that get the chance to document this occasion. There's something special about being there and capturing the thrill of the parents when finding out whether they’re having a boy or girl or both! Oh, and in case you didn't know, a gender reveal session is, it's exactly what it sounds like: images of the parents finding out (or sharing) their baby's gender in a creative way!

Need some ideas?  How does this one appeal to you?  Have your gynea write the gender of your baby onto a piece of paper and have a friend get a cake made for you and we'll photograph your reaction!  You can even have us get the cake made for you and have a friend or your doctor give us the top secret info!  Or we could get helium-filled pink or blue balloons put into a kist or box and discover the gender of your baby on opening the box!

Equestrian Matric Dance Photoshoot | Matric Dance Photographer

I am always nervous when incorporating something new into a photoshoot, and this particular instance was no different.  I was asked if I'd do some pre-matric dance photos for a beautiful young lady the other day.  Now that wasn't the difficult part.  The part that worried me a little, was that we'd be including two horses!  I love horses and think they are majestic creatures, but I've have never had the privilege of photographing one, so the stakes were high.  Fortunately our lovely lass handled the setting like a pro, and her equine pals Ronnie and Impi were perfect gentlemen.  All-in-all an absolutely stunning photoshoot which will definitely go down as one of my favourites :)
