This party was a special one for me to photograph, as it was for a friend I met many years back when we both attended Rhodes University. We also stayed in the same res. So while photographing a kiddies Birthday party a few months back, I bumped into Shashi and we reconnected again! What a small world!! I was thrilled to photograph her hubby's surprise Birthday party the other night. He is one of the biggest movie buffs around, so the party was fittingly themed after the movies. Everyone came dressed for the part and there was even a movie quiz as part of the entertainment. I thought I knew my movie trivia pretty well - but it seems it's back to the drawing board for me. Equestrian Matric Dance Photoshoot | Matric Dance Photographer

I am always nervous when incorporating something new into a photoshoot, and this particular instance was no different.  I was asked if I'd do some pre-matric dance photos for a beautiful young lady the other day.  Now that wasn't the difficult part.  The part that worried me a little, was that we'd be including two horses!  I love horses and think they are majestic creatures, but I've have never had the privilege of photographing one, so the stakes were high.  Fortunately our lovely lass handled the setting like a pro, and her equine pals Ronnie and Impi were perfect gentlemen.  All-in-all an absolutely stunning photoshoot which will definitely go down as one of my favourites :)
